Fire Volcano in Guatemala erupts

The Fire Volcano in southern Guatemala erupted blazing rock and ash over surrounding towns on Saturday. David de Leon, spokesperson for the national disaster preparedness office, told authorities had put region on vigilant, but no shifting had been made so far. Karina Lopez, a local of closeby Antigua, told ash blended with a drizzle to lessen visibility and the volcano carried on to rumble.
The national coordinator for disaster reduction agency published notice asking people to take shelter, wear masks, cover water tanks and be aware of evacuation routes. Firefighters were prepared and ready to help. The volcano sits on the border of the Guatemalan states of Escuintla, Sacatepequez and Chimaltenango. It has a height of 3,763 meters (12,346 feet) above sea level.Fire Volcano in Guatemala erupts
